Daily Viking Practice

Morning Ritual

Greeting the Day (5 minutes)

  1. Face east (sunrise)
  2. Raise arms in salute
  3. Say: "Hail to the day! Hail to day's sons! Hail to the night and her daughters! Look on us here with loving eyes, and bring victory to those sitting here!"
  4. Draw rune for the day
  5. Set intention to live with honor

Evening Ritual

Honoring the Night (5 minutes)

  1. Light candle on altar
  2. Pour offering (mead, water, etc.)
  3. Thank gods and ancestors for the day
  4. Reflect on how you lived the virtues
  5. Ask for protection during sleep

Weekly Blót (Offering Ritual)

Simple Home Blót (15-20 minutes)

  1. Prepare offering (mead, beer, food)
  2. Light candle on altar
  3. Invoke the god(s): "Hail [God name]! I honor you with this offering!"
  4. Pour offering into bowl or onto earth
  5. Speak your prayers/requests
  6. Sit in silence, feel their presence
  7. Thank them: "Hail [God name]!"
  8. Leave offering for 24 hours, then dispose respectfully
