Abundance Bath: Cinnamon, Basil, and Citrine to Open the Energetic Field to Receiving
Share
Abundance is not primarily a material condition; it is an energetic one. The person who has genuine abundance consciousness — the genuine, embodied sense that there is enough, that more is available, that receiving is natural and legitimate — tends to attract abundance in material forms as a consequence of the energetic state rather than as its cause. The person whose energetic field is contracted around scarcity — the unconscious belief in not-enough, in having to compete for limited resources, in unworthiness of receiving — tends to perpetuate that experience regardless of their material circumstances, because the energetic state of scarcity is self-referentially creating the conditions that confirm it.
The abundance bath works on this energetic level: it uses the solar, warming, expansive frequencies of cinnamon, basil, and citrine to shift the practitioner's energetic field from the contracted frequency of scarcity toward the open, warm, receptive frequency of genuine abundance consciousness. It is not a magic spell that produces money from nothing; it is an energetic recalibration that shifts the practitioner's fundamental frequency away from the contraction that limits receiving and toward the openness that allows it.
Why Cinnamon, Basil, and Citrine
Cinnamon is one of the most universally consistent abundance herbs across the folk magic, Hoodoo, and botanical healing traditions: its warm, spicy frequency activates the solar plexus (the center of personal power and the right to have and receive), accelerates the energetic movement of what is desired toward the practitioner, and creates the warmth and vitality in the energetic field that the frequency of abundance requires. Its scent alone produces the physiological response of increased alertness and confidence that the scarcity consciousness suppresses.
Basil is the classic prosperity herb of the Mediterranean, Italian, and Caribbean magical traditions: it is the herb placed in the cash register, the herb grown at the threshold of prosperous businesses, the herb offered to Lakshmi in the Hindu tradition. Its specific quality in abundance work is the energetic opening of the pathways through which abundance flows — the clearing of the energetic blocks that prevent receiving rather than the aggressive pursuit of abundance.
Citrine is the stone of the solar plexus and of abundance in the crystal healing tradition — the "merchant's stone" that is traditionally placed in cash registers and business spaces to support the flow of prosperity. Its warm yellow frequency resonates directly with the solar plexus's sense of personal power, confidence, and the genuine rightness of having one's needs and desires met. It does not accumulate negative energy and does not require cleansing; it is one of the few crystals that can be placed directly in the bath water safely.
Ingredients and Ceremony
Epsom salt (two cups). Himalayan pink salt (one cup). Three cinnamon sticks, broken in half, added directly to the water. Fresh basil (a generous handful) in a muslin bag. Cinnamon essential oil (three drops only — it is a strong irritant; less is more) in a tablespoon of carrier. Orange essential oil (eight drops in carrier) for the bright, expansive energy of citrus. Citrine tumbled stone, placed directly in the bath water. A gold or orange candle. Sunstone or tiger's eye at the bath's edge as additional abundance amplifiers.
Before the bath: Write three specific things you are opening to receiving — not just material abundance, but also the non-material forms: love, creative opportunity, recognition, joy, ease. Read each one aloud and genuinely feel the openness of receiving rather than the desperation of wanting.
During the bath: Hold the citrine in both hands and breathe into the solar plexus region — the area above the navel. With each inhale, breathe in the sense of genuine openness and rightness of receiving. With each exhale, release the contraction of scarcity — the sense of not-enough, not-worthy, not-possible. The citrine's frequency amplifies this recalibration. Remain for at least twenty-five minutes.
After the bath: Place the citrine on your abundance altar or keep it in the space where you do your work. Keep the intentions list and review it at the next new and full moon to track what has opened.
