The Abundance Harvest: Receiving What Has Grown Since the New Moon
Share
The Abundance Harvest is the full moon ritual that closes the loop of the lunar cycle: from the intention set at the new moon, through the growth and development of the waxing weeks, to the harvest at the full moon of what has actually arrived. It is specifically oriented toward abundance in its full sense — not only financial abundance, but the abundance of time, connection, creativity, insight, vitality, opportunity, and love that the full moon's harvest moment is designed to reveal and receive.
The new moon is the planting; the full moon is the harvest. This is one of the most ancient and consistent metaphors in lunar spirituality, and the Abundance Harvest ritual is its practical tarot embodiment. What did you plant at the new moon — in intention, in action, in the energy you directed toward what you wanted to grow? And what has actually grown since then, whether you planted it intentionally or not? The full moon sees both: what was intentionally cultivated and what grew in the field of your life without specific direction.
The Full Spectrum of Abundance
The Abundance Harvest ritual works with abundance across its full spectrum because the full moon's harvest reveals abundance in all its forms simultaneously, not only the forms the practitioner was specifically cultivating. Practitioners frequently discover through this ritual that significant abundance has arrived in dimensions they were not specifically attending to: a creative breakthrough in a period focused on financial growth, a deepening of connection in a period focused on professional development, an unexpected gift of time in a period that felt constrained. The harvest, properly conducted, reveals the full abundance of the field rather than only the abundance of the specifically planted rows.
Ritual Setup
Candle: Green for abundance and the harvest of what has grown; gold for the richness of the full moon's illumination of what has arrived. Both together create the most complete energetic support for the Abundance Harvest.
Crystals: Citrine (the abundance stone par excellence, for receiving what has grown), green aventurine (for the harvest of opportunity and luck), pyrite (for the golden quality of material and creative abundance), and clear quartz to amplify the full moon's revealing energy.
Optional: Physical representations of the abundance you have been cultivating: relevant to your specific intentions at the new moon, whatever objects or images represent what you planted and what you hoped would grow.
The Abundance Harvest Tarot Spread
Card 1 — What was planted: What was the essential intention or seed energy of your new moon planting? This card reflects back the quality of what was set in motion, which may be more or less aligned with what you consciously intended at the new moon.
Card 2 — What has grown: What has actually grown in the field of your life since the new moon? This card names the harvest — which may align with what you intended to grow, or may reveal something different or additional that arrived without specific planting.
Card 3 — What is ready to be received: Of the abundance that has grown, what is most ready to be consciously received right now? This card often identifies a dimension of what has arrived that the practitioner has not yet fully taken in.
Card 4 — What is blocking full reception: What is standing between you and the full reception of what the full moon's harvest has brought? This is the most practically useful card in the spread: the specific internal or external obstacle to genuinely receiving what has arrived.
Card 5 — The seed for the next planting: What does this harvest suggest for the next new moon's planting? What has the full moon revealed about what wants to grow next, what conditions have been prepared by this harvest, and what the field of your life is most ready to support in the next lunar cycle?
The Three-Step Ritual Flow
Step 1: The Harvest Inventory. Before working with the cards, write a full inventory of what has arrived since the new moon — in every dimension of your life, regardless of whether you specifically planted it. Include the unexpected arrivals, the small gifts, the moments of grace that were not the result of specific intention but arrived nonetheless. The full harvest includes everything the field has produced, not only what was deliberately cultivated.
Step 2: The Active Reception. Working with Card 3 (what is ready to be received), spend five minutes in active, conscious, physical reception of the specific abundance identified. Not thinking about it, but feeling it arriving — letting the body's experience of receiving actually occur. This is the moment the ritual is built around; everything else is preparation for this genuine reception.
Step 3: The Next Planting Intention. Based on Card 5, write a preliminary intention for the next new moon — not yet fully formed, but present as a direction. The harvest reveals what the field is ready for next; write what the cards and the full moon have shown you about what wants to be planted in the next cycle.
