The Abundance Intention: Call In Prosperity with Honest Wanting at the New Moon
Share
Abundance work at the new moon is one of the most commonly attempted and most commonly ineffective forms of intention-setting — not because abundance is unavailable, but because the abundance intentions most commonly set are rooted in something other than honest wanting. They are rooted in anxiety about scarcity ("I need more money because I am afraid of not having enough"), or in comparison ("I want what they have"), or in cultural programming about what prosperity is supposed to look like. The Abundance Intention ritual is built on a different foundation: honest wanting, clearly named and specifically planted, with the full moon's harvest specifically in view.
"Honest wanting" is the key phrase. The Abundance Intention ritual begins with the honest examination of what kind of abundance is actually, genuinely wanted — not what should be wanted, not what would impress others, not what would relieve the anxiety of scarcity, but what would actually produce the experience of abundance in this specific life, for this specific person, in this specific season. This examination, conducted through the clarifying lens of tarot, frequently reveals that the abundance genuinely sought is not primarily financial, or is financial in a different form than the stated desire, or has specific conditions attached that the general aspiration of "more money" does not capture.
The Many Forms of Abundance
The Abundance Intention ritual works with abundance in its full spectrum: financial abundance (income, savings, opportunity), time abundance (the experience of having enough time for what matters), creative abundance (the flow of creative energy and ideas), relational abundance (rich connection, generosity, reciprocity), and spiritual abundance (meaning, purpose, the sense of being resourced from within). The tarot in this ritual will reveal which form of abundance is most genuinely sought and most ready to be grown in the current lunar cycle, which may not be the form the practitioner assumed before the reading began.
Ritual Setup
Candle: Green for the growth of abundance and the fertility of the new moon's seeding energy; or gold for the richness of genuine prosperity. A combination of green and gold is particularly effective for the Abundance Intention ritual.
Crystals: Citrine (the abundance stone, for the genuine reception of prosperity), green aventurine (for the growth of opportunity and financial flow), pyrite (for the golden quality of material abundance), and clear quartz (for the clarity of the genuine abundance intention).
Optional: Physical representations of the abundance being called in — cash, an invoice for work completed and paid, a symbol of the specific form of abundance being seeded. The physical object anchors the abundance intention in the material world rather than keeping it in the realm of aspiration.
The Abundance Intention Tarot Spread
Card 1 — What form of abundance is genuinely sought: What is the specific form of abundance that is most genuinely wanted at this new moon? This card names the honest abundance intention, which may be more specific or different from the general "I want more money" that most abundance intention-setting begins with.
Card 2 — The abundance belief at the root: What is the foundational belief about abundance that is operating beneath the surface intention? This card names the specific abundance belief — which may be a belief in genuine abundance as available, or a more limiting belief that is shaping the intention in ways that undermine its growth.
Card 3 — What the abundance seed needs: What specific conditions, actions, or qualities does this abundance seed require in order to grow from intention to actual increase? This card names the practical requirements of the specific abundance being seeded.
Card 4 — The energy to release: What energy, belief, or pattern around abundance needs to be released before the new abundance intention can grow? What is occupying the abundance ground that needs to be cleared to make space for the new seed?
Card 5 — The first abundance act: What is the first specific action that plants the abundance intention in the material world? This card names the practical first step that brings the abundance intention from the realm of desire into the realm of actual material reality.
The Three-Step Ritual Flow
Step 1: The Honest Abundance Statement. Write the genuine abundance intention with maximum specificity: not "I want more money" but "I am calling in [specific form, specific amount, specific timeframe] of abundance, because [honest reason that is genuinely about your life rather than anxiety or comparison]." The specificity and the honest reason are what make the intention viable.
Step 2: The Belief Clearing. Working with Card 4, write the specific limiting belief or scarcity energy being released: "I release the belief that [specific limiting belief]. I am clearing the ground of [specific scarcity pattern] to make space for [specific abundance being called in]."
Step 3: The Material First Step. Based on Card 5, take one specific material action within twenty-four hours that grounds the abundance intention in the material world: update the business plan, send the invoice, take the meeting, make the offer. The material first step is what transforms the abundance intention from the energetic realm into the material one where abundance actually grows.
