ARIES Season: Rituals for March 21 - April 19
BY NICOLE LAU
Welcome to Aries Season: The Time of Initiation
As the Sun enters Aries on March 21st, we cross the threshold of the Spring Equinox and enter the astrological new year. Aries season (March 21 - April 19) is a time of fresh beginnings, courageous action, and pioneering new paths. This is when nature awakens from winter's slumber, and we're called to do the same—to shake off what's been dormant and step boldly into new chapters.
The Energy of Aries Season
During these powerful weeks, the collective energy shifts toward:
- Initiation and new beginnings: Starting projects, relationships, or personal transformations
- Courage activation: Taking bold action despite fear
- Leadership emergence: Stepping into your power and pioneering new ways
- Physical vitality: Increased energy and desire for movement
- Independence: Claiming your sovereignty and individual path
Aries Season Ritual Calendar
Spring Equinox Ritual (March 21)
The equinox marks perfect balance between light and dark before light begins to dominate. This is the ideal time for:
Courage Activation Ceremony
- Light a red or gold candle at sunrise
- Write down one courageous action you've been avoiding
- Speak it aloud: "I claim the courage to [action]. I begin now."
- Take one immediate step toward that action today
- Keep the candle burning as you take action (safely)
What you'll need: Red or gold candle, paper, pen, matches
Aries New Moon Ritual (varies yearly)
The New Moon in Aries is the most powerful new beginning of the year. Use this time for:
Warrior Initiation Ritual
- Create a sacred space with fire element (candles, incense)
- Place carnelian, ruby, or red jasper crystals in front of you
- Write your intentions for the new astrological year
- Burn the paper, releasing your intentions to the universe
- Perform 9 sun salutations or jumping jacks to activate Mars energy
- Close by placing your hand on your solar plexus and affirming: "I am the warrior. I begin."
What you'll need: Candles, fire-safe bowl, paper, pen, red crystals, yoga mat or space to move
Weekly Fire Ceremony (Every Sunday)
Aries is ruled by Mars and connected to fire element. Weekly fire rituals keep you aligned:
Courage Fire Ritual
- Light a candle each Sunday morning
- Write down one fear you're ready to transmute
- Burn the paper in the candle flame
- As it burns, visualize the fear transforming into courage
- Take one brave action that day
What you'll need: Candle, paper, pen, fire-safe container
Aries Full Moon Release (varies yearly)
If a Full Moon falls during Aries season (in Libra), use it for:
Relationship Balance Ritual
- Reflect on where you've lost yourself in relationships
- Write down patterns of people-pleasing or self-abandonment
- Burn the list under the full moon
- Affirm: "I reclaim my sovereignty. I honor myself and others equally."
Daily Aries Season Practices
Morning Activation (Daily)
- Wake with the sun if possible
- Perform 5-10 minutes of vigorous movement (dancing, jumping, running)
