Charging a Broad Blessing Talisman: Thursday Ritual for the Second Pentacle
Share
The Second Pentacle of Jupiter is most powerful when regularly charged — when the practitioner actively renews the connection between the seal and the full Jovian current it invokes, and consciously opens themselves to the complete range of what Jupiter can bring. Thursday is the natural day for this renewal: Jupiter's day, when the planet's energy of abundance, divine law, and divine favor is most accessible and most potent.
The charging ritual for the Second Pentacle has a distinctive character: it is the ritual of genuine openness — of consciously receiving the full current of Jovian blessing rather than directing it toward a single specific outcome. This openness is itself a practice, and the Thursday ritual is the primary vehicle for cultivating it.
What You Need
- Your Second Pentacle of Jupiter necklace
- A blue or purple candle (Jupiter's colors)
- Frankincense or cedar incense (Jupiter's incense)
- A journal for recording intentions, gratitude, and insights
- A quiet space where you will not be interrupted
Optional additions that deepen the comprehensive quality of the ritual:
- A second candle in gold or yellow (for the Sun's general blessing alongside Jupiter's specific abundance)
- Nutmeg or clove incense (associated with Jupiter's expansive, warming quality)
- A piece of lapis lazuli, amethyst, or sapphire (stones associated with Jupiter's wisdom and abundance)
- Physical representations of your multiple goals: notes, images, or objects that represent the different dimensions of your expansion
The Thursday Broad Blessing Ritual
- Begin during the Jupiter hour on Thursday. Light the candle and the incense. Take three slow, deep breaths. Feel yourself present, centered, and genuinely open.
- Hold the necklace in both hands. Look at the seal. Let yourself become present to what you are holding: the most comprehensive instrument of Jovian success in the Key of Solomon — a seal that draws glory, honors, dignities, riches, all kinds of good, and great tranquility of mind simultaneously.
- Invoke Jupiter's full current. Speak aloud: "Jupiter, great benefic, planet of divine law and divine abundance, I invoke your full current. I open myself to the complete range of your blessing — to glory, honors, dignities, riches, all kinds of good, and great tranquility of mind. I am open to the hidden treasures you reveal and the obstacles you clear from my path. Let your full current flow through every dimension of my life."
- Speak the border verse. Say aloud: "Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever." Pause. Let the verse's imagery settle: wealth and riches already in the house, already there, already belonging.
- State your intentions across all dimensions. Speak your intentions for each dimension of your life: your work, your finances, your relationships, your reputation, your inner life. Be specific where you can, and genuinely open where you cannot. End with: "And all kinds of good that Jupiter knows to bring."
- Practice gratitude. Briefly acknowledge the good that has arrived since your last charging ritual — however small, however unexpected. This acknowledgment keeps the current flowing and the working active.
- Enter receptive awareness. Sit quietly for a few minutes, genuinely open to whatever arises — insights, ideas, impressions, a sense of direction. Jupiter often communicates through sudden clarity. Record anything that arises in your journal.
- Close the ritual. Say "So it is" or whatever closing phrase feels right. Put the necklace on. Allow the candle to burn down if possible.
The Blessing Journal
Maintaining a blessing journal alongside your Second Pentacle practice amplifies the working significantly. Record your Thursday intentions, the good that arrives during the week, unexpected opportunities and developments, and your gratitude for what is flowing. Reviewing the journal over time reveals the working's development across multiple dimensions and keeps the intention active between Thursday rituals.
