Citrine vs Pyrite: Which Abundance Crystal is Right for You?
Share
What is Citrine?
Citrine, known as the "Merchant's Stone" and "Stone of Abundance," is a golden yellow variety of quartz that radiates joy, optimism, and prosperity. This sunny crystal is beloved for attracting wealth, success, and positive energy while dispelling negativity and fear.
Citrine Properties:
- Composition: Silicon dioxide (SiO₂) with iron impurities
- Hardness: 7 on Mohs scale (durable)
- Color: Pale yellow to deep amber-orange
- Energy: Uplifting, energizing, manifestation-focused
- Chakra: Solar plexus chakra, sacral chakra
- Element: Fire
Important note: Natural citrine is rare and pale yellow. Most "citrine" on the market is heat-treated amethyst (which turns orange-brown). Both work energetically, but natural citrine is more expensive and has gentler energy.
What is Pyrite?
Pyrite, known as "Fool's Gold" and the "Stone of Action," is an iron sulfide mineral with a brilliant metallic luster. While it may have fooled gold prospectors, pyrite is no fool when it comes to manifesting abundance—it combines the grounding energy of earth with the activating power of fire to help you take concrete action toward your goals.
Pyrite Properties:
- Composition: Iron sulfide (FeS₂)
- Hardness: 6-6.5 on Mohs scale (moderately durable)
- Color: Brassy gold, metallic
- Energy: Grounding, activating, protective
- Chakra: Solar plexus chakra, root chakra
- Element: Earth, Fire
Pyrite often forms in perfect cubic crystals, symbolizing structure, organization, and the solid foundation needed to build lasting wealth.

The Missing Layer in Most Crystal Practice
You chose the right stone. You set an intention. You held it during meditation. And still — nothing shifted. The missing layer isn't the crystal. It's the field the crystal is working in.
Crystals amplify what's already present. If the field is cluttered, they amplify the clutter.

- The Pleroma Mandala Tapestry creates a geometric resonance field in your space — sacred geometry and crystal energy are the same language. They compound each other.
- The High Priestess Tarot Journal · Divine Wisdom & Intuition Notebook gives you a place to record what each session reveals — pattern recognition across sessions is where the real insight lives.
