Earth: The Element of Stability, Nourishment & Integrity
Earth is the third of the Five Elements in Chinese cosmology — the element of late summer, of the harvest, of the centering and grounding energy that holds all the other elements in balance. Earth energy is stable, nurturing, and fundamentally oriented toward creating the reliable foundation that allows all other energies to flourish. Where Wood reaches upward and Fire blazes outward, Earth holds the center — the still point around which all movement occurs.
In Chinese astrology, Earth years end in 8 or 9. Earth people are born in years such as 1948, 1958, 1968, 1978, 1988, 1998, 2008, and 2018.
