The first line describes meeting an equal partner at the dawn of abundance. Both are strong, creative, and capable (a yang line meeting another yang partner in Line 4). The phrase "they can be together for ten days" represents a complete solar cycle (the ten celestial stems in ancient Chinese calendar science).
When you are initiating a massive, ambitious expansion, you need peers who match your energy, not yes-men. Collaborating with an equally strong, independent partner for a defined, complete operational cycle is entirely without error. Advancing together brings universal praise. The second line describes a bizarre astronomical and political eclipse. The person here is central, yielding, and possesses total clarity (the center of Li/Fire). However, the ruler above them (Line 5) has allowed a massive, opaque screen or curtain to block the sunlight! The darkness is so thick that at high noon, you can see the stars of the Big Dipper in the sky.
This represents working under a leadership that has become blinded by hubris, sycophants, and bad information. If you charge into the throne room with aggressive lectures ("going"), the paranoid boss will suspect you of treason ("suspicion and hatred"). What must you do? You cannot use force. The person here is a brilliant, capable actor (a yang line at the peak of Fire), but in this pitch-black confusion, they suffer a catastrophic injury: "he breaks his right arm."
The right arm is the arm of action, execution, and warfare. When your right arm is broken, you are physically incapable of doing anything. In life, this represents a sudden, paralyzing crisisβa frozen bank account, a health collapse, or an executive mutiny. The I Ching grants: "No blame." The catastrophe was caused by systemic darkness, not personal incompetence. Accept that you are incapacitated for now. You cannot fight with a broken arm; wait for the bones to mend.

"Blessing and fame arrive." True abundance at the top is not about doing everything yourself; it is about attracting world-class talent and celebrating their brilliance. Supreme good fortune.

The top line represents the ultimate, chilling tragedy of wealth and power gone rotten. The person has accumulated astronomical abundance: "his house is in a state of abundance." But wealth has made them completely paranoid, misanthropic, and cruel.
They build massive walls, screen off their own family, and fire all their friends. They sit alone in their echoing, gilded mansion, peering through the iron gate with suspicion. But because they have alienated everyone on earth, "he no longer sees anyone." The mansion becomes a mausoleum. For three yearsβa complete cycleβthey sit in absolute, rotting isolation. Misfortune. This is the fate of the billionaire who dies alone surrounded by armed guards and empty rooms. Abundance turned into an eternal tomb.
