Sun God Power Spells
The Solar Renewal Spell
This spell calls forth new strength from a place of weakness or depletion.
Materials: Gold candle, citrine or sunstone, corn kernels, paper and pen
Process: Light candle at dawn on June 24th. Hold crystal to heart. Acknowledge where you feel weak, depleted, or at your lowest point. Speak: "Inti, Father Sun, at your weakest moment you gather strength to return. I call upon this power. From my darkness, I rise. From my weakness, I find strength. As you are reborn, so am I renewed." Write your intention for renewal on paper. Place corn kernels on paper (symbolizing seeds of new growth). Fold toward you. Keep under crystal on altar until you feel renewed strength.
The Abundance Spell
Incan magic deeply connected solar power with agricultural abundance.
Materials: Dried corn (any color), small bowl, gold cloth, honey
Process: Place corn in bowl on gold cloth. Drizzle with honey. Speak: "Inti, you bring warmth that grows the corn. Pachamama, you provide the fertile earth. Together you create abundance. I call this abundance into my life. May prosperity flow like golden light." Place bowl on altar or in kitchen. Add one corn kernel daily while visualizing abundance. When bowl is full, scatter kernels outside as offering to birds and earth.
The Ancestral Power Spell
Connect with ancestral strength and wisdom.
Materials: Photo of ancestor or symbol representing lineage, gold candle, amber or carnelian
Process: Light candle. Hold crystal. Gaze at photo or symbol. Speak: "I honor my ancestors who came before me. Their strength flows in my blood. Their wisdom guides my path. Inti, divine ancestor of the Inca, I call upon ancestral power. I am connected to those who came before and those who will come after. I am part of an eternal lineage." Meditate on ancestral connection. Keep photo and crystal on altar.
Incan-Inspired Magical Practices
Coca Leaf Divination (K'intu)
Traditional Andean practice using coca leaves for divination and offering. If you don't have access to coca leaves, use bay leaves as substitute.
Process: Hold three perfect leaves. Blow your intention or question into them. Arrange in specific pattern or toss and read how they fall. Offer to Pachamama by burying or burning. This practice requires study and respectβconsider it an introduction to a deep tradition.
Chicha Offering Magic
Chicha (corn beer) was sacred to the Incas. Modern practitioners can use corn-based beverages or make simple chicha.
Simple Chicha: Boil purple or yellow corn with cinnamon, cloves, and pineapple peel. Sweeten with honey or sugar. Let cool.
Offering: Pour chicha onto earth while speaking prayers to Inti and Pachamama. Drink some yourself to share in the blessing. This creates reciprocityβyou give to the earth and receive from it.
Despacho Ceremony
Despacho is a traditional Andean offering bundle. Creating one is a form of prayer and magic.
Materials: Large piece of paper or cloth, flowers, corn kernels, coca leaves (or bay leaves), candy or sweets, small symbolic items (coins, crystals, written prayers)
Process: Lay paper/cloth flat. Arrange offerings in beautiful pattern while praying and setting intentions. Fold into bundle. Burn in fire (if biodegradable) or bury in earth. This offering creates ayni (reciprocity) with the spiritual world.
Solar Charging and Empowerment
The Sun Disk Talisman
Create a personal sun disk inspired by the golden Inti disk at Qorikancha.
Materials: Gold-colored disc (metal, wood, or clay), permanent marker or paint, gold ribbon or chain
Process: Draw or paint Inti's face on discβa circle with human features and radiating sun rays. Charge in sunlight on June 24th from sunrise to sunset. Speak: "I consecrate this talisman as vessel of Inti's power. May it carry solar strength through all seasons. Blessed be." Wear or carry when you need to access personal power, especially during dark times.
Solar Water Creation
Create sun-charged water on Inti Raymi.
Process: Fill clear glass jar with spring water. Add citrine or clear quartz. Place in direct sunlight on June 24th. Leave from sunrise to sunset. Remove crystal. Use water for: drinking (for vitality), anointing (for blessing), ritual baths (for purification), watering plants (for growth).
Protection and Blessing Magic
The Golden Shield Spell
Materials: Gold candle, pyrite or tiger's eye, gold fabric or paper
Process: Light candle. Hold crystal. Visualize golden light surrounding you like a shield. Speak: "Inti's golden light protects me. I am shielded from harm. I am safe and sovereign. No negativity can penetrate this sacred boundary." Wrap crystal in gold fabric. Carry for protection or place at home entrance.
Home Blessing Ritual
Materials: Corn kernels, salt, water, gold candle
Process: Mix corn and salt. Walk through home, sprinkling mixture at thresholds and corners. Speak: "Inti blesses this home with warmth and light. Pachamama blesses this home with abundance and stability. This space is sacred and protected." Light candle in center of home. Let burn completely.
Timing Your Magic
Dawn (June 24th): New beginnings, hope, calling forth strength
Noon: Peak power work (even though sun is at yearly low, daily peak still holds power)
Sunset: Gratitude, completion, honoring cycles
The Three Days Before: Purification, preparation, releasing
The Nine Days After: Celebration, manifestation, integration
Ethical Magical Practice
When working with Incan-inspired magic: Acknowledge this is not your ancestral tradition (unless you are of Andean descent). Learn about Incan history and ongoing indigenous struggles. Support indigenous Andean communities. Don't claim to practice "authentic" Incan magicβyou're adapting with respect. Always include reciprocityβgive offerings to Pachamama and Inti. Work for the highest good of all, not just personal gain.
Conclusion: Solar Magic of Renewal
Inti Raymi magic teaches that true power isn't just about strength at the peak but about the ability to renew, to rise from the lowest point, to trust in cycles. The sun's return from its furthest point is a profound magical lesson: even when we feel weakest, the seeds of renewal are already present.
Work with Inti's energy not just to claim power but to understand that power includes vulnerability, that strength includes the capacity to rest and renew, and that the greatest magic is alignment with natural cycles.
