How to Use These Prompts
Create bold space: Light a candle (red or orange for fire), play energizing music, stand while you write if it helps
Write with passion: Let your fire flow onto the pageβdon't hold back
Be honest about fear: Courage isn't the absence of fear; it's action despite fear
Take action immediately: Choose one insight and act on it within 24 hours
Track your momentum: Revisit these prompts to see how your courage has grown
The 15 Journal Prompts
1. The Passion Inventory
Prompt: What am I genuinely passionate about right now? What makes my heart race, my blood pump, my spirit come alive? List everythingβdon't filter for "realistic" or "practical."
Why this matters: Passion is your compass. The Knight follows fire, not logic.
Follow-up: Circle the top 3 that feel most urgent. Star the one that scares you most (in an exciting way).
2. The Bold Move I'm Avoiding
Prompt: What bold action have I been avoiding? What do I know I should do, but fear has kept me from doing? What would I pursue if I knew I couldn't fail?
Why this matters: We often know exactly what we need to doβwe just need courage to do it.
Action: Write the bold move at the top of the page. Then write: "I will do this by [date]."
3. The Fear Beneath the Hesitation
Prompt: What am I actually afraid of? Not surface fears ("I might fail"), but deep fears ("I might succeed and then have to sustain it" or "I might discover I'm not who I thought I was"). Write the truth.
Why this matters: Naming fear reduces its power. Once you see it clearly, you can choose courage anyway.
Reality check: Is this fear protecting me from real danger, or from growth?
4. The Courage Audit
Prompt: When have I been truly courageous in my life? What bold moves have I made before? What did I learn about myself through those experiences?
Why this matters: You've been brave before. You can be brave again. Evidence of past courage builds current confidence.
Reflection: What made those moments possible? How can I access that courage now?
5. The Reckless vs. Courageous Question
Prompt: Am I being courageous, or am I being reckless? Have I thought this through, or am I acting impulsively? What's the difference in this situation?
Why this matters: The Knight's shadow is recklessness. This prompt helps you discern.
Discernment: Courage considers consequences and acts anyway. Recklessness ignores consequences entirely.
6. The Pursuit Question
Prompt: What am I pursuing, and why? Am I chasing this because it genuinely calls to me, or because I'm running from something else? Am I pursuing my passion, or avoiding my pain?
Why this matters: The Knight must know what they're riding towardβand what they're riding away from.
Honest assessment: Healthy pursuit feels like moving toward. Unhealthy pursuit feels like running from.
7. The Momentum Map
Prompt: Where do I already have momentum in my life? What's already working? What small wins can I build on? How can I use existing momentum to create more?
Why this matters: The Knight doesn't start from zeroβthey build on existing energy.
Strategy: Momentum compounds. Identify what's working and do more of it.
8. The Competition Question
Prompt: How do I feel about competition? Do I thrive in it or avoid it? Am I competing with integrity, or am I letting ego drive me? Who am I really competing againstβothers, or my own potential?
Why this matters: The Knight is competitive. Understanding your relationship with competition helps you channel it wisely.
Healthy competition: Elevates everyone. Toxic competition: Tears others down.
9. The Burnout Check
Prompt: Am I charging toward my goals, or am I burning myself out? How sustainable is my current pace? What would it look like to pursue my passions without destroying myself?
Why this matters: The Knight's shadow is burnout. Passion without pacing leads to collapse.
Assessment: Can I maintain this intensity for 6 months? A year? If not, what needs to change?
10. The Bold Declaration
Prompt: If I could declare one bold intention to the universe right now, what would it be? Write it as a statement of fact, not a wish: "I am [doing/becoming/creating] _______."
Examples:
- "I am launching my business in Q1 2026."
- "I am pursuing the relationship I want with confidence."
- "I am making the career change I've been dreaming about."
Why this matters: Declaration creates commitment. Speaking it makes it real.
Action: Say it aloud. Write it where you'll see it daily.
11. The First Bold Step
Prompt: What's the first bold action I can take toward my goal? Not the whole journeyβjust the very next courageous step. What can I do this week that scares me a little?
Why this matters: Courage builds through action, not contemplation. Small bold moves create momentum for bigger ones.
Commitment: Take that step within 48 hours. No excuses.
12. The Support System
Prompt: Who supports my bold moves? Who believes in me even when I doubt myself? Who will I tell about my courageous action to create accountability?
Why this matters: Even knights need allies. Courage is easier when you're not alone.
Action: Reach out to one person this week and share your bold intention.
13. The Impulsivity Audit
Prompt: When have I been impulsive in ways I later regretted? What pattern do I notice? How can I honor my fire while also pausing to think?
Why this matters: Learning from past impulsivity helps you channel fire more wisely.
Strategy: Institute a "24-hour rule" for major decisions. Sleep on it, then act.
14. The Adventure Vision
Prompt: If my life were an adventure story, what chapter am I in now? What bold quest is calling me? What would the hero version of me do in this situation?
Why this matters: The Knight is the hero of their own story. This prompt helps you embody that archetype.
Visualization: See yourself as the courageous protagonist. What would they do next?
15. The Commitment Ceremony
Prompt: Based on everything I've written, what ONE bold action am I committing to in the next 30 days? Write a commitment letter to yourself:
- What you're pursuing and why
- What bold action you'll take
- What support you need
- How you'll handle fear when it arises
- What success looks like
Why this matters: Insight without commitment is just interesting information. This prompt turns awareness into action.
Accountability: Sign and date it. Share it with someone you trust.
