New Moon in Sagittarius Light Path Ritual: Adventurous Joy
Share
BY NICOLE LAU
The New Moon in Sagittarius isn't about planning the perfect adventure. It's about planting seeds of joyful exploration—following what excites you without needing to know where it leads.
This is the Light Path approach: we don't plan adventure. We follow joy.
Why Sagittarius New Moon Is About Joyful Exploration
Sagittarius is the sign of adventure, philosophy, and expansion. When the new moon lands in Sagittarius (typically late November), we're invited to plant seeds of exploration and trust the journey.
Old paradigm: Adventure through careful planning and goals
Light Path: Adventure through following joy and curiosity
The Light Path Ritual
What you'll need:
- A purple candle (Sagittarius color)
- Your Sagittarius journal
- Optional: New Moon tapestry
- Optional: Sagittarius pillow
- 30 minutes of expansive time
Step 1: Create Your Adventure Space (5 min)
Light your candle. Sagittarius is fire—feel the excitement, the possibility, the expansion.
Stand up. Stretch your arms wide. Take up space. Sagittarius teaches: the world is yours to explore.
Say: "I follow joy. I trust adventure. I explore with delight."
Step 2: The Adventure Question (10 min)
Write: "What adventure would bring me the most joy?"
Not what's practical. What would be FUN:
Prompts:
- If I could go anywhere, I'd explore...
- The adventure I've been dreaming about is...
- What excites me most right now is...
- If I trusted joy completely, I would...
Step 3: The Exploration Commitment (5 min)
Choose ONE adventure to begin this lunar cycle. Write:
"I commit to exploring [adventure] with joy and curiosity. I don't need to know the destination. I trust the journey."
Examples:
- "I commit to exploring a new city this month"
- "I commit to learning about a topic that fascinates me"
- "I commit to saying yes to spontaneous adventures"
- "I commit to exploring a new creative practice"
Step 4: The Sagittarius Activation (5 min)
Jump! Sagittarius is about movement and expansion.
Say: "I am adventurous. I am free. I follow joy. I trust the journey. The world is my playground."
Blow out the candle. The ritual is complete.

The Light Path Difference
Traditional Sagittarius work is about setting adventure goals. Light Path Sagittarius is about following joy wherever it leads.
The Sagittarius New Moon asks: Can you adventure without needing to know the destination?
My Sagittarius New Moon Story
Last year's Sagittarius New Moon showed me: I'd been planning adventures so carefully that they stopped being fun.
My exploration commitment: Say yes to one spontaneous adventure per week.
Within a month, I'd had more fun than in the entire previous year. The best adventures were the unplanned ones.
Joy is the compass. Trust it.
