Phase Three — Embodiment: What It Means to Live as If
Share
By Day 61 of the 90-day practice, something has changed.
The vision is no longer a wish. It is a direction. The new beliefs are not just statements you are practicing — they are starting to feel more true than the old ones. The morning practice is no longer effortful; it has become something you look forward to. And the person you are becoming is no longer a future projection — they are beginning to feel like you.
Phase Three — Embodiment — is where this shift fully arrives. It is the phase of being, receiving, and completing.
What Embodiment Means
Embodiment is not performance. It is not "acting as if" in the sense of pretending to be someone you are not. It is the state that arrives when practice has been sustained long enough that the new way of being has moved from deliberate effort into genuine nature.
The musician who has practiced scales for years does not think about scales when they play. The athlete who has trained for months does not consciously execute each movement. The practice has been internalized to the point where it operates naturally, without effortful application. This is embodiment: the thing practiced has become part of who you are.
Phase Three of the journal is designed to support this transition — to consolidate the identity shifts of the first sixty days and allow them to settle into genuine being rather than practiced becoming.
The Three Elements of Phase Three
Being: The being dimension of Phase Three is about deepening into the new identity rather than practicing it. The prompts in this phase shift from "who are you becoming?" to "who are you?" Not aspirationally, but descriptively. The practice is recognizing and affirming what has already become true rather than reaching toward what is not yet true.
This is a subtle but important shift. In Phase One and Two, the orientation is forward — toward the vision, toward the person you are becoming. In Phase Three, the orientation is present — toward who you actually are now, as a result of the transformation the practice has worked. This recognition is itself a powerful consolidation mechanism: seeing the change confirms it, which deepens it.
Receiving: The receiving dimension of Phase Three is about developing the capacity to actually receive what you are creating. This is often an underappreciated obstacle: many people work to create results they then unconsciously deflect, minimize, or struggle to sustain when they arrive.
The capacity to receive is related to worthiness — to the deep sense that what you have worked to create is genuinely available to you, that you are allowed to have it, that it does not have to be given away immediately or qualified or apologized for. The Phase Three prompts work specifically with this dimension: building the genuine openness to receive what is already in motion.
Completing: The completing dimension of Phase Three is about integrating the entire 90-day journey — seeing what has changed, acknowledging what has been built, and consciously completing this chapter so that the next one can begin from a clear, integrated starting point.
Completion is not an ending. It is a conscious closing that creates space for a new beginning from a genuinely different starting point. The 90-day practice ends not with exhaustion or trailing off, but with integration — a clear sense of what this journey was, what it produced, and who you are as a result.
"Living as If" in Phase Three
The phrase "living as if" means something different in Phase Three than it does in Phase One. In Phase One, "living as if" requires deliberate effort — choosing to think, feel, and act as if the vision were real, even when nothing external yet confirms it.
In Phase Three, "living as if" is no longer a performance. The new beliefs feel true. The new identity feels natural. The new emotional baseline is the actual baseline. You are not living as if — you are simply living.
This is what sixty days of genuine practice has built. And it is the foundation from which the next chapter of creation begins.
