It's one of the eight sacred sabbats of the wheel of the year, and it's perhaps the most universally celebrated: Easter, Nowruz, Holi, and countless other spring festivals echo this ancient recognition that spring is sacred, that rebirth deserves celebration, that the return of light is cause for profound joy.

Spring equinox carries profound spiritual symbolism. Balance: day and night are equal, light and dark in perfect equilibrium before light takes over.
