The Decision Clarity Spread: Choosing with Joy
Share
BY NICOLE LAU
In the Light Path tradition, genuine decision-making is not the anxious weighing of risks and rewards by someone who is afraid of choosing wrong. It is the clear, joyful, completely self-possessed act of someone who trusts their own inner wisdom — who can see both paths clearly, feel into the genuine aliveness each one offers, and choose with the particular, luminous confidence of someone whose decisions are rooted in genuine joy rather than fear, genuine clarity rather than confusion, genuine inner authority rather than external pressure.
The Decision Clarity Spread is designed for exactly this: to bring genuine clarity, genuine joy, and genuine inner authority to the decisions that matter most.
The Spread Layout
Arrange five cards in a crossroads pattern:
Card 1 — The Crossroads (Center): The essential nature of the decision itself — what is genuinely at stake, what this choice is most fundamentally about, what the crossroads is most truly asking. This card cuts through the surface complexity to reveal the decision's genuine core.
Card 2 — Path A (The Joy of Yes): What genuine joy, genuine aliveness, and genuine possibility are available if you choose this path — what the yes most genuinely offers when seen through the lens of genuine delight rather than fear or obligation.
Card 3 — Path A (The Challenge of Yes): What genuine challenge, genuine growth edge, or genuine difficulty this path most honestly involves — not as a reason to avoid it but as honest preparation for what genuine commitment to this choice will require.
Card 4 — Path B (The Joy of No): What genuine joy, genuine aliveness, and genuine possibility are available if you choose the other path — what the no most genuinely offers when seen through the lens of genuine delight rather than fear or obligation.
Card 5 — Path B (The Challenge of No): What genuine challenge, genuine growth edge, or genuine difficulty this path most honestly involves — the honest cost of not choosing, the genuine difficulty of the alternative.
How to Use This Spread
Before laying the cards, clearly name the decision you are facing — state it as specifically and as honestly as possible. Then ask yourself: if fear were completely absent, which path would I choose? Notice what arises. The answer to this question is often the most important information you bring to the reading.
Shuffle while holding the question: show me both paths clearly — the genuine joy and the genuine challenge of each — so I can choose with complete clarity and complete confidence.
When reading this spread, pay particular attention to where genuine joy is most alive. In the Light Path tradition, genuine joy is the most reliable compass available — the path that offers the most genuine aliveness is almost always the most genuinely aligned choice.
After the reading, sit with both paths for a moment before deciding. Feel into each one with your body — not just your mind. The body knows. The felt sense of genuine aliveness or genuine contraction is often the clearest signal available.

Crossroads — The Fool: The essential nature of this decision is a genuine leap of faith — a genuine new beginning that requires the Fool's own quality of open-hearted, completely available, genuinely excited trust in the universe's most generous support.
Path A Joy (Yes, Leave) — The Sun: The joy available in leaving is pure, radiant, completely unself-conscious creative aliveness — the particular delight of someone who is finally, completely free to express their most genuine creative gifts without constraint.
Path A Challenge (Yes, Leave) — Five of Pentacles: The genuine challenge of leaving is the real possibility of material difficulty — the cold, the uncertainty, the genuine vulnerability of someone who has stepped outside the familiar structure of guaranteed income.
Path B Joy (No, Stay) — Four of Pentacles: The joy available in staying is genuine security — the solid, grounded, completely reliable comfort of known income and known structure. This is real and it is genuinely valuable.
Path B Challenge (No, Stay) — Eight of Cups: The genuine challenge of staying is the soul-level cost of remaining in a chapter that is genuinely complete — the particular, quiet grief of someone who knows they are called elsewhere but has not yet found the courage to go.
