Wearing the Fourth Pentacle: Carrying the Seal of Ruin and Revelation

The Fourth Pentacle of Saturn is worn differently from most other grimoire seals. Its dual nature — termination and revelation — means that how and when the practitioner wears it depends on which function they are engaging. For the intelligence-gathering function, the Fourth Pentacle may be worn during the working period while the Southern spirits are delivering their intelligence. For the termination function, the necklace is most appropriately worn during the ritual itself and for a brief period afterward — not as a sustained working instrument in the way the Sixth Pentacle is worn during an ongoing curse, but as the instrument of a single, final act.
Wearing for Intelligence-Gathering
When using the Fourth Pentacle's revelation function — summoning the Southern spirits for hidden messages and concealed intelligence — wear the necklace during the working and in the days immediately following it. The Southern spirits often deliver their intelligence gradually, through dreams and synchronicities that unfold over several days after the working. Wearing the Fourth Pentacle during this period maintains the connection to the Southern spirits and keeps the channel of intelligence open as they deliver what they have been summoned to reveal.
Once the intelligence has been fully received and recorded, the necklace can be removed. The intelligence-gathering working is complete when the practitioner has received the information they sought and has recorded it fully.
Wearing for Termination
When using the Fourth Pentacle's termination function, the necklace is worn during the Saturday termination ritual and for a brief grounding period immediately afterward. Unlike the Sixth Pentacle's sustained curse working, the Fourth Pentacle's termination is a single, final act — invoked once, with full intention, and then released. The practitioner does not need to wear the necklace continuously to maintain the termination working; the termination force is set in motion during the ritual and operates independently of the practitioner's continued wearing of the seal.
After the ritual and the grounding period, remove the necklace with deliberate intention: "The termination is invoked. The Fourth Pentacle's force is directed. The working is complete. I release the seal."
The Necklace Form: The Seal at the Chest
The Cuban coin necklace places the Fourth Pentacle at the chest — close to the heart, the body's center of intention and will. For a seal whose operation requires absolute clarity of intention and full awareness of consequence, the chest placement is fitting: the seal rests at the body's center of deliberate, considered action, carried close to the practitioner's core intention throughout the working.
Between workings, store the Fourth Pentacle with respect — wrapped in black cloth, kept in a dedicated space, treated as the serious instrument it is.
