The First Pentacle of Venus — Key of Solomon

This pentacle originates from the legendary grimoire of King Solomon, revered across Western occult traditions as a seal of Venusian power. The First Pentacle of Venus is the foundational instrument of the Venus series—its recorded purpose is to control and summon the spirits of Venus, particularly those whose names are inscribed within the seal itself. It is not defined by the grimoire as a love charm or friendship talisman; its primary function is the establishment of authority over Venusian intelligences and the opening of the practitioner's access to the full Venus hierarchy. Any association with love, attraction, or desire flows from the nature of the spirits being commanded—not from a direct instruction in the original text.

Magical Application & Ritual Use

This pentacle is intended for the practitioner who works within the Solomonic tradition and seeks to engage the Venusian sphere at its source—through direct contact with and command over its governing spirits. Use it as the primary seal when opening any Venus-oriented ritual, establishing your authority over the intelligences of that sphere before proceeding with more specific operations. Before working with this seal, hold it and clearly state your intention and the spirits you seek to engage. Many practitioners align their work with the hour or day of Venus (Friday) to maximize resonance. The dual-sided engraving allows personalization: inscribe your name or sigil on the front to claim the seal's power, and a date or affirmation on the back to mark your magical commitment.

Integration into Practice

Incorporate this pentacle as the opening anchor of any Venus evocation sequence, or wear it when seeking to attune your consciousness to the Venusian sphere as a whole. It functions as a key of access and command—the practitioner's credential when entering the domain of Venus and its spirits. Its durable gold-plated stainless steel construction ensures longevity through repeated energetic work and ritual use.
